I spent the day with Pratap, the business owner as a guide through the Godavari area near the Botanical gardens. My experience was wonderful. I was guided to see over 50 new birds. Pratap could recognise most of the calls and the jizz of every bird, was gentle and patient to help me get a great view and clearly enjoyed helping a bird watcher like me get the best experience possible. The morning session was outstanding but the birds quietened as lunch approached as they do everywhere. I am super grateful for the service of such a dedicated professional. When I come back, I will definitely go on one of his companies longer tours.

I had a great 5 days birding with Pratap. Pratap is a great guide. He is vry knowledgeable. He has great hearing, often able to hear the birds before we spot them. This helps me to get ready. He is also a good birds and wildlife photographer thus he is able to put you in the best position to have a good angle to photograph the birds. enjoyed his company as well. He is easy going & we chatted on Nepal's history, geography and culture. Beside birding, I also learn about Nepal. Will recommend Pratap Gurung to anyone who wants to have a fruitful time birding and enjoying nature in Nepal.

On the 20th of February, 2026, I had the opportunity to visit Shivapuri National Park with Mr. Tek Gharti Magar, organised by Nepal Birding Tour. It was an excellently planned trip, and Mr. Tek was very patient throughout, knowledgeably explaining about the different bird species we saw and heard throughout the day (a total of 77 species by the end of the day!). I highly recommend organising your bird-watching tour in Nepal through Nepal Birding Tour, as you will be assured of excellent organisation of the trip itself, and fantastic memories and photos to carry back with you afterwards.

A friend of mine and I visited Nepal for 4 days in January. We employed the services of Pratap Gurung as a bird guide. What a stroke of good luck. We are serious birders and had a list of targets we wanted to see. Pratrap worked hard and found us all we wanted with his excellent eyesight and hearing. With his knowledge he showed us several birds we had not even expected to see. Additionally he was extremely accommodating, including providing excellent lodging and meals. As a real surprise, an unplanned opportunity arose and he was able to arrange for us to take a flight to see Mt Everest at very short notice. We are very happy with Pratrap and would give him the highest testimony for anyone wanting to bird in Nepal.

Nepal Birding Tour met all of our expectations. The leader Pratap was an effective leader who knows his birds and where to find them. He took care of all the details, and I would recommend him to anyone. In addition, Nepal more than lived up to our expectations. We also were able to take a flight near Mt Everest which was a real highlight.

Pratap is an excellent birding guide with deep understanding of the bird and other fauna of Nepal. His skills include outstanding knowledge of bird calls, making identification quick and accurrate. As a person he is cheerful, helpful, supportive and very organised. All this make him a prime person to discover the richness of Nepali avifauna with and turns this experience into a complete pleasure. I highly recommend Pratap Gurung to anyone that wants to discover the birds of Nepal.

We had a wonderful time traveling with Pratap. He planned everything, gave us all we asked for in the planning stages, and was a delightful person! He is an amazing birder and photographer and we saw and photographed more birds than we thought possible. I hope we can return someday!!

Pratap Gurung designed a superb private two-week November program of trekking and bird watching for our first visit to Nepal. His sharp eye and keen ear helped us locate and identify some 187 bird species. His mastery of wildlife photography was a joy to observe. His attention to organizational detail made everything run smoothly. His charm and wit made him a great companion. We have high praise for his abilities.
