We had a wonderful time traveling with Pratap. He planned everything, gave us all we asked for in the planning stages, and was a delightful person! He is an amazing birder and photographer and we saw and photographed more birds than we thought possible. I hope we can return someday!!

Wow, what started as a random recommendation turned into an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience! Pratap from Nepal Birding Tour was recommended to me as a guide by another traveller who knew that I was about to visit Nepal and that I enjoyed watching birds. I initially booked Pratap for a one week trek through Langtang Valley, but we ended up several weeks travelling through much of Nepal, spotting many species of wildlife. As a tour guide: Pratap is experienced. He knows what he is doing. He also has an extensive network around Nepal and knows how to deal with unforeseen circumstances. He is attentive, friendly and will take care of things. As a wildlife guide: Pratap showed me almost 300 different species of bird in Nepal (that's about one-third of all the species in Nepal). He has a great eye and knowledge about the wildlife in Nepal. Pratap guided me through Langtang Valley, Lumbini area, Chitwan National Park, Bardiya National Park, and the Mohare Danda trek in the Annapurna region. With his guidance, I was able to see an incredible variety of birds in these areas as well as wild rhino, elephant, crocodile, leopard, black bear and even a wild tiger! Trust me, if you're into wildlife in general, or specifically interested in birding, book Pratap as your guide. You will have an incredible time.

Pratap arranged two wonderful days for us during our stay in Kathmandu. He was super responsible and responsive, staying in touch during the planning process and following up during our visit. Our day with Tek was the highlight of our trip. Without using playback or a laser pointer, he found over 85 species for us in one day. His knowledge of the birds and their calls, as well as their favorite locations, gave us incredible views of some difficult species. He planned our day to maximize our sightings while still having coffee in the morning and lunch, both at places where birds could be seen. He is very patient and good at describing a bird’s location. If I am ever lucky enough to return to Nepal for birding, I would turn only to Pratap and Tek.

Very highly recommended, if you want a guide with real ornithological expertise. Pratap has both stellar field skills and deep knowledge of the avifauna of Nepal - as well as the specific local information about what birds could be found where. So we had a superb day: 76 bird species, including a few that were completely unexpected. In all honesty, I went with few expectations: with only one free day to spend in Kathmandu, I didn't think we would see that many birds. The amazing day we had blasted all those assumptions to smithereens.
