Langtang Valley Trek

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you will meet your trekking guide for a detailed briefing about the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, including route information, permits, altitude awareness, equipment, and weather conditions. The remainder of the day is free to explore the lively streets of Thamel, purchase any last-minute trekking gear, or relax before beginning your Himalayan adventure.

Your Langtang Valley Trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the trek. The journey takes around 7–8 hours and passes through terraced hillsides, rivers, local villages, and mountain landscapes. Along the way, you can enjoy views of the Trishuli River and the surrounding Himalayan foothills. After reaching Syabrubesi, check into a local teahouse, enjoy a warm dinner, and prepare for the trekking adventure ahead.

Today the trail enters Langtang National Park and follows the Langtang River through lush forests of bamboo, oak, and rhododendron. Suspension bridges and cascading waterfalls make the walk enjoyable and scenic. Wildlife such as langurs and various Himalayan birds may be seen along the route. The trail gradually ascends before reaching Lama Hotel, a peaceful settlement surrounded by dense forest and mountain views.

The forest begins to thin as the valley widens and the mountains become more dramatic. You will pass Ghodatabela and continue through yak pastures and traditional Tamang settlements. The route offers excellent views of Langtang Lirung and nearby peaks. Arriving in Langtang Village, you can observe local culture, stone houses, prayer wheels, and monasteries while enjoying the beautiful alpine environment.

This shorter trekking day allows time for acclimatization and exploration. The trail climbs gently through meadows and glacial landscapes before reaching Kyanjin Gompa, the spiritual and scenic heart of the Langtang Valley. Visit the ancient monastery, explore the famous local cheese factory, and enjoy panoramic views of surrounding Himalayan peaks. The afternoon is perfect for rest, photography, and preparation for the next day’s viewpoint hike.

Start early for a spectacular hike to Kyanjin Ri or the higher Tserko Ri viewpoint. The climb is steep but incredibly rewarding, offering breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, glaciers, and the entire Langtang Valley. This is often considered the highlight of the Langtang Valley Trek. After spending time at the summit, descend carefully back to Kyanjin Gompa for an overnight stay.

Retrace your steps through Langtang Village and Ghodatabela while descending back into the forested valley. The downhill walk is easier on the lungs but still requires attention on uneven sections of the trail. Enjoy different perspectives of the mountains and forests that you passed earlier. Overnight at Lama Hotel, where you can relax and reflect on the unforgettable high-altitude experiences.

Continue descending through forests, suspension bridges, and riverside paths back to Syabrubesi. The trail is familiar but equally enjoyable, with opportunities to observe local life and Himalayan flora and fauna. Upon arrival, celebrate the completion of the trekking portion of the Langtang Valley Trek with a hearty meal and a comfortable night in a teahouse.

After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu through scenic mountain roads and traditional villages. The journey takes around 7–8 hours depending on road conditions. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, the Langtang Valley Trek concludes with unforgettable memories of Himalayan landscapes, Tamang culture, mountain monasteries, and breathtaking viewpoints.

After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. As your Langtang Valley Trek comes to an end, you leave Nepal with unforgettable memories of the Langtang Himalayas, traditional mountain villages, warm Nepali hospitality, and one of the world’s most spectacular trekking experiences.
